SEASONAL FLU UPDATE
The Lake County Dept. of Public Health and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) are reporting that Illinois is experiencing an increase in cases of seasonal influenza. The CDC recommends obtaining the flu vaccine for everyone over 6 months of age, if you have not already done so. KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION FOR 2014/2015 BEGAN DECEMBER 6th
Kindergarten Registration for 2014/2015 will begin on December 6th at Sprague School from 9:15 a.m.-3:00 p.m. for children who will be five years old before September 1, 2014. For the 2014/2015 school year, parents will have the opportunity to select either the full-day (tuition based) or half-day kindergarten program upon registering their child. Parents or guardians will need to bring the following in order to register a child:
- The child’s original birth certificate or passport (a photocopy of the birth certificate and/or a hospital certification of birth cannot be accepted), and
- Proof of District 103 residency (tax bill, closing papers, driver’s license, utility bill, etc.). For details on these requirements, visit www.d103.org/vbackpack/D103AdmProc-ResidencyRev112712.pdf.
Forms for required medical and dental examinations will be available at the time of registration, and they must be completed and returned to Sprague School one week prior to the first day of the 2014/2015 school year. The World Language Committee wants to thank the parents and staff who have been part of the World Language study. At the Board of Education meeting on March 19th, a new World Language program was approved for School District 103.
